A little about Jason Vaughn,
Jason Vaughn was once a theme park caricature artist, for those of you who don't know, caricature artists are those pathetic kids that stand around easels sweating they're underpaid asses off while you walk around enjoying your snow cones and funnel cakes. He was duped into this position right out of high school and proceeded to spend the next four summers drawing stupid pictures of stupid kids at Six Flags America, just outside of D.C. This Carny life of marker fumes and dirty fingers was an unfortunate change from his learnings at Suitland High School Center for the Visual and Performing Arts, the school with the longest name in all of Maryland. Suitland was much like that school in Fame...only it had art and less sexiness. There he learned many things about the arts that were, unbeknownst to him, soon to be sweated out of him under the scorching P.G. County sun.
The one time of year that Jason looked forward to were the winters. It was then that Jason traveled to Tampa, FL to work at Busch Gardens. He'd been interested in tattooing for some time now and had been slowly diverting all his artistic ambitions to learning the art of tattoos. While in Maryland he'd poked around at a couple shops asking about apprenticeships but came away empty handed. Not to be discouraged he pursued his dreams in Tampa, as well, and it was here that he scored an apprenticeship under Dave Bruehl at Atomic Tattoos. After six months of serving coffee to yuppies and sleeping on a mattress that wasn't much better than a floor in a room that wasn't meant to be a bedroom, he became a tattooist.
